I'm not MIA

The movers are coming on Monday to start packing up the house.  They will be here Monday and Tuesday to pack.  Wednesday they are scheduled to load the truck.  Thursday, they drive.  Friday, they deliver to the new house!

With all that...  that means I have to pack up my scrap room.  That is my task for the day.  I'm planning on taking my time and putting things away where they belong.  It will make unpacking and organizing my new scrap room that much easier.

Currently, I'm in the basement with concrete walls in drab gray.  I'm so looking forward to my new, bright room that actually has a window!  I'm already in love.  It's being painted this week..  Sherwin Williams (SW 6769), Maxi Teal.  Oh my goodness...  I can't wait!!!

All I'll have to do is add my special touch to it.  I'm currently on the hunt for some storage solutions that can be painted.  I'm going with ALOT of white with orange and lime green accents.

I'll be sure to post pics when it's done.

So anyway, before I got off on my little tangent, I was trying to get at the fact that I will be MIA for a bit.  I will have no computer access for a couple of weeks.  As much as I don't want to admit it, I'll have to organize more than just my new scrap space.  I'll have to start in the kitchen because I guess my kids have to eat.

Adious for now.  Wish me well!

Adore You

Don't you love it when mistakes turn out so good?  That's what happened with this one...

This little sliver of a picture was going to be the second picture of a page I had posted earlier, but after I cut it, a little light bulb went off in my head.  I LOVE it when that happens!

Anyway, I thought, why not make this itty bitty pic be the main focus?  I was off and running.  I'm not very good at negative space, but I think I actually like this one.  I always want to fill it up with "stuff".

Enjoy and thanks for stopping!

Enjoy the Stardom

I absolutely love the challenges at 123 Challenges.  It's always something different!

This time around:

Orange
"Enjoy"
Bakers Twine

Now, even though I am not in love with this LO, it'll do for now.  I may end up going back to add something here or there.

I didn't get a good picture of the journaling, but basically, Sawyer was in a summer acting class with mostly girls.  He was clearly the STAR!

Thanks for stopping by!

Son

I first saw this challenge a couple of weeks ago and thought to myself, NO WAY.  But I kept coming back to White With 1 thinking, maybe...  and then I got a chance to scrap with a friend of mine and she always gives me inspiration.  We decided to try it together...

Anyway, White With 1 challenge this month was:

White
Cream
Chipboard

I'm in love with the result:

Color Me Scrappy - Challenge #4

Wow! I can't believe how fast these first couple of months at Color Me Scrappy has gone. When Pam and I were discussing starting a color challenge blog, we thought that a challenge every week would be too much!  Thank goodness we followed our gut... We have 2 challenges a month and it keeps me busy at that.

Pam and I chose such a fabulous DT! Their pages have just been outstanding! Here is my DT that I am so proud of:

Also, here is my latest LO for Challenge #4!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Urban Wildlife

Wow, this is my 4th page from the May kit from Peace, Love, & Scrapbooking!!  I still have so much left to use.  What a deal because I still have another page I can make with all of it.  That's 5 pages and still some leftovers.

I used the May sketch from Stuck?! with a few modifications, but that's okay, right?  It's all in the interpretation...

I'm really into popping my stuff out lately.  I just love the way it looks.  It adds so much dimension to the page.  I really wanted to accent the fawn in the picture on the lower right, so I popped it out and also added it where the two large banners intercect.  Love the way that turned out!

I cut the flowers out of the GB paper and then just covered the holes up with the green and red strips of paper.  Shhh, nobody else knows.  On those flowers, I used liquid glass from CTMH.

I've also been interested in doodling lately, but have alway been so afraid to do it, especially on the BG paper.  There is that fear that I won't like the way it looks and if it's on the BG paper, you can be out of luck.  Well, this time, I LOVe the way it turned out.  It's hard to tell in the pic, but I outlined the 3 leaves and some other flowers on the BG.  I also framed in the upper left with place and date with doodle lines.

Enjoy and please, leave some love!

Thanks for stopping!

SJH is...

I've noticed a similarity in the way I decorate a house and the way that I scrapbook.

As I've mentioned before, we are in the middle of a move from Kentucky to Michigan and I get to have my entire house painted by a professional.  In the past, I've enjoyed painting it myself, but I think there is something to be said to having your entire house ready to go when you walk in the door.

We'll have the house for just over a month before the boys and I move in.  I've been working on paint colors and selecting the new furniture and appliances for it.  That's when I noticed the similarity...  I'm really not into delicate and ornate.  Give me some simple lines and sharp colors.

I think that is why this block style of scrapbooking comes so easy to me.  The page below was designed for Challenge #3 at Color Me Scrappy.  It came together very quickly.

Enjoy and please leave some love.
